Bishkek, Jan. 8, 2018 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov instructed chairman of the board of National Energy Holding Company JSC Aibek Kaliev to work out the issue of minimizing the release of ash and particulate matters into the atmosphere at the Bishkek thermal power station (TPS), the Government’s press service reported.
Isakov said that recently the residents of the capital have justly complained about the high level of air pollution in Bishkek. In this regard, it is necessary to take appropriate measures to change this situation.
According to the information of the National Energy Holding, in the framework of the Modernization of Bishkek TPS project, new units were built to clean flue gas. The flue gas cleaning system was designed in accordance with international standards.
Aibek Kaliev informed that in order to minimize emissions into the atmosphere from old boilers, it is necessary to carry out relevant studies and develop a project for additional cleaning of flue gases followed by construction and installation works.
In order to reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere in December 2017, a Memorandum was signed on the organization of financing the acquisition of buses for the needs of the city of Bishkek. New buses will be delivered in the second quarter of 2018.
The Prime Minister noted that the uniqueness of this project is that the purchased buses will be used by gas.
"These steps will allow to improve the ecological situation in Bishkek," he stressed.
