Bishkek, Feb, 7, 2018. / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met with President of Schneider Electric for Russia and CIS Johan Vanderplaetse, Vice President Roman Shmakov, General Director for Kazakhstan and Central Asia Maxim Ageev, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
During the meeting the sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of energy, renewable energy sources, and digital transformation within the framework of the national Taza Koom program.
"Within the framework of the Taza Koom project, we are interested in the participation of companies with extensive experience, good reputation and relevant expertise in infrastructural ICT projects, creating business conditions for working in the digital system, and enhancing the capacity of local specialists," Isakov said.
President of Schneider Electric for Russia and CIS Vanderplaetse said that the company is interested in participating in projects on digital transformation, in particular on data processing. "Kyrgyzstan has a great chance to become a leader in data storage and processing for the entire Central Asian region. For this, the country has all the conditions: natural cooling, available electricity and human potential. The government's plans for digitalization are ambitious and very timely," he said.
Further, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of training specialists in the field of energy and information technologies. In this connection, the representatives of Schneider Electric informed the Kyrgyz prime minister about the ongoing work on raising the skills of local specialists in low-voltage and high-voltage equipment.
On Feb. 5 Schneider Electric and Kyrgyz State Technical University signed a memorandum of cooperation, under which Schneider Electric provides equipment for training future engineers and opens an appropriate laboratory.
