Osh, Aug.15, 2017 /Kabar/. Participants of international torch relay ”Running the world” reached Osh city of Kyrgyzstan on August 12.
The international team of runners from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus started on August 10 in Batken. The length of the race is 1 thousand 419km.
Representatives of Osh Mayor’s Office met the participants. Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of the Mayor’s Office showed significant support in organizing the meeting.
“Running the world” is the most extended international torch relay of friendship, mutual understanding which inspires people to unite in their ambitions to harmony and unity. For 30 years it was attended by more than 6 million people and the torch has traveled in more than 155 countries on 6 continents,” said coordinator of the “Running the world” in Kyrgyzstan Bolot Tilebaldiev.
The torch relay “Running the world” aims to inspire as many people as possible to actively apply efforts to establish peace and harmony among the nationalities living in Kyrgyzstan. Everyone, regardless of the level of sports training and age, can take part in the relay race.
A local “Running the world” is held in Kyrgyzstan for the first time at the support of the State Agency of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and unites 6 oblasts of the country: Batken, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Talas, Chui, Issyk-Kul.
