Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2017 / Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev speaking at 72nd session of the General Assembly of the United Nations touched upon the achievements of the country.
He said that the peace, harmony and stability are the main things that Kyrgyzstan have achieved in recent years. “The country is changing. The Kyrgyz Republic is the first and only country in post-Soviet Central Asia with parliamentary democracy,” he said.
President Atambayev emphasized that international organizations, including the UN, recognize the Kyrgyz Republic as one of the most free and stable states with a strong civil society on the Eurasian continent.
He also said that the special achievement is the introduction of a new model of the electoral process with the use of modern biometric technologies for voter identification and automatic counting of the electorate, which has already shown its validity during the 2015 parliamentary elections and the 2016 referendum in Kyrgyzstan.
Atambayev also expressed hope that in future the Kyrgyz Republic will become an economically developed, socially prosperous and secure country with a developed agro-industrial complex and industry. “A safe and favorable country for living and sustainable tourism, a participant of the Mountain Partnership, taking into account the unique nature and historical and cultural monuments of the Great Silk Road,” he said.
