Inter-Faith Council of Kyrgyzstan to be formed

Bishkek, Dec. 5, 2018. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, it is planned to create an independent body, the Inter-Faith Council of Kyrgyzstan, Director of the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zayirbek Ergeshov told at the conference in Bishkek.

He said that the council will include all representatives of religions in the country, the task of the new body will be to preserve peace and improve the religious situation in the country.

“We need to maintain democratic principles on religious issues in the country. Religion must remain the free choice of every citizen. There are destructive forces that are trying to stir up the religious situation in the country. We should not let these forces influence the peace between faiths,” Ergeshov said.

In his opinion, Kyrgyzstan is more liberal compared to other countries.
