Bishkek, July 26 / Kabar /. The Government of Kyrgyzstan is interested in close cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Oleg Pankratov during a meeting with representatives of UNIDO, the press service of the government reported.
Pankratov said that the goals and objectives of the Country Partnership Program for the Kyrgyz Republic should be reflected in the Sustainable Development Program of Kyrgyzstan for 2018-2022 and the Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period up to 2040.
"Industry is the basis of the economy of any state. For us, the development of industry is of great importance. With this in mind, the Government of Kyrgyzstan is interested in working closely with UNIDO in developing long-term systemic measures aimed at developing the industrial potential of our country. With the help of UNIDO and partners, we want to achieve an important goal for us - the growth of industrial production and its share in GDP," he stressed.
Zagrekov, a senior advisor to UNIDO, said that the Executive Committee of the organization decided recently to develop a Country Partnership Program (CPP) for the Kyrgyz Republic.
"The development of the Country Partnership Program for Kyrgyzstan will be carried out taking into account the priority sectors of the local economy and the current situation. It is important that over the years of work we have accumulated a lot of experience that will allow to avoid many mistakes that were made earlier. It is especially important for us that in the Kyrgyz society there is a consensus on the need to industrialize the domestic economy. This is a great responsibility, which we hope to justify," he said.
