Bishkek, June 29 / Kabar /. The first political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg took place in Luxemburg on Tuesday, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The 25th anniversary since the establishment of official diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Luxembourg - was special significance to the negotiations.
During the talks of head of the Kyrgyz delegation - First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Kemelova with the Luxembourg counterpart - Director of Directorate for European Affairs and International Economic Relations of the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs G.Stronk a wide range of issues was discussed: current status and prospects for cooperation of the parties in a bilateral and multilateral formats. In particular, the possibilities of cooperation in the export of Kyrgyz products to Luxembourg, investment in infrastructure and logistics centers, as well as support for the Taza koom project were discussed.
The sides stressed the need to develop bilateral political dialogue by organizing mutual visits, expressing hope for further intensification of the entire range of relations between countries, including in the direction of intensifying trade and economic relations and developing a bilateral legal framework.
Luxembourg is the only country in the European Union, where one of the streets of the capital city is named after the great Soviet and Kyrgyz writer, the first Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Luxembourg, Chyngyz Aitmatov. On the occasion of the celebration of the 90th jubilee of Aitmatov in 2018, the sides agreed to hold a number of cultural events in Luxembourg.
