Foreign Ministers of SCO countries meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping

Bishkek, Apr. 24, 2018 / Kabar /. Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev attended in Beijing a joint meeting of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, which is held in the framework of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states.

During the meeting, President Xi Jinping said that since the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization almost 17 years ago, it has become a comprehensive regional organization with extensive influence. Member-states comprehensively promote cooperation in all fields, actively play a constructive role in international and regional affairs and have created a model of a new type of international relations representing mutual respect, justice, and also win-win cooperation.

Currently, the cooperation in the six main areas of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, including politics, economics, security, humanities, foreign exchanges and the establishment of mechanisms, is steadily progressing, and the overall level of cooperation continues to grow.

In his speech, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev said that in a relatively short time the Shanghai Cooperation Organization became an authoritative international organization and also said that the SCO member states created important mechanisms for the development of cooperation in all spheres within the framework of the SCO.

Minister Erlan Abdyldaev stressed that the "Shanghai spirit", containing the basic principles and ideas of the organization, is an irreplaceable source of the successful development of the SCO and assured that the Kyrgyz side as a reliable member of the Organization will always consistently and systematically uphold its goals and tasks in accordance with the SCO Charter and other basic documents.

Also, Minister Erlan Abdyldaev drew attention to the significant contribution of the chairmanship of the Chinese side to the Organization, during which a number of important and significant projects within the SCO framework were initiated aimed at further deepening cooperation between the SCO member states

In conclusion, Abdyldaev expressed his confidence that cooperation within the SCO, thanks to the tireless efforts of all its participants, will continue to be effectively developed for the sake of peace and prosperity.
