FMs of Central Asia and US discuss regional security and prospects in frames of C5 + 1 format

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2017 / Kabar /. On September 22, 2017, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Erlan Abidlayev, took part in the meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the USA within the framework of the regional platform of the C5 + 1format. The ministerial meeting was held in New York at the invitation of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of regional security, counteraction to terrorism, economic cooperation, cooperation in the field of environmental protection and energy, and exchanged views on the prospects for further joint work in the C5 + 1 format.

In his speech, Minister Abdyldaev stressed the need to transform the Forum's activities into practice, and the importance that the planned projects had a tangible effect in the interests of all the C5 + 1 participating countries.
