Bishkek, Nov.7, 2019. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov received the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, headed by State Minister / Deputy Foreign Minister of Norway Audun Halvorsen, the press service of the Kyrgyz MFA reported.
The delegation from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has arrived in Bishkek to participate in the first consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Norway on the results of the agreements, reached between foreign ministers during the meeting in September 2019 on the margins of the UNGA.
The sides discussed issues, related to the preparation of a high-level bilateral visit in 2020.
Kyrgyz FM Aidarbekov expressed his gratitude to the Norwegian side for supporting the activities of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. He highly appreciated the level of long-term and successful cooperation between the two countries in the rehabilitation of uranium tailings. The foreign minister gave a positive assessment of the level of bilateral Kyrgyz-Norwegian relations, which have a promising potential and character of progressively developing.
Chingiz Aidarbekov emphasized the need to increase cooperation in priority areas, noting the further intensification of political cooperation, cooperation in the field of environmental protection and ecology, education, development of new joint projects and continuation of successful cooperation within international organizations.
