Bishkek, March 23, 2018 / Kabar /. First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Askarbek Shadiev met today with Chinese Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Xiao Qinghua within the framework of the forthcoming regular meeting of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation to be held on April 2-3 in Beijing.
The Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported that Shadiev noted that the bilateral intergovernmental commission is the main permanent mechanism for realizing practical cooperation between the two countries.
"In this regard, we hope that the signed protocol on the results of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting will be saturated with the implemented agreements aimed at improving the well-being of not only the two countries but also of our region as a whole," said the First Vice Prime Minister who is the co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission.
In addition, Shadiev stressed that within the framework of the forthcoming meeting the Kyrgyz delegation is interested in holding a number of bilateral meetings with the leadership of state bodies of China to discuss topical issues on the agenda.
"Within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting and bilateral meetings, we intend to discuss in detail the development of regional transport corridors, expand agricultural exports to China and accelerate the signing of relevant documents, as well as raise the topic of entry visas to China," said Askarbek Shadiev.
In turn, the Aambassador said that the Kyrgyz Republic was, is and will be a strategic partner of China.
"The Chinese side intends to develop trade and economic relations with Kyrgyzstan. We are open to dialogue and are ready to strengthen bilateral cooperation by carefully considering all proposals of the Kyrgyz side, as they are aimed at achieving the common good," Xiao Qinghua added.
