Osh, Oct.7, 2019 /Kabar/. An exhibition of flowers, the Boorsok festival, the “Osh - the capital of the Turkic world” exhibition, the Kyuz Berekesi (Fertile Autumn) agricultural fair, and folk songs and festivities were organized at the central square in honor of Osh City’s Day.
The event was attended by Mayor Taalaibek Sarybashov, Speaker of the City Council Zhaparbek Ormonov, heads of institutions and enterprises, citizens and guests.
As part of the event, the Boorsok festival with the participation of teachers, representatives of institutions and enterprises was held. The fair featured 40-50 types of boorsok.
Employees of the City Department of Culture, educational institutions, pupils of the Music School named after Boroshov, employees of the Oblast Philharmonic Society named after Abdykadyrov and creative groups of national diasporas sang folk songs, performed a concert program and organized festivities.
Besides, the Fertile Autumn fair of farmers, arrived from all regions of Osh Oblast, was organized.
Boorsok is a type of fried dough food found in the cuisines of Central Asia, Idel-Ural, Mongolia and the Middle East. It is shaped into either triangles or sometimes spheres. The dough consists of flour, yeast, milk, eggs, margarine, salt, sugar, and fat.
