Bishkek, May 14, 2018 / Kabar /. Kabar News Agency of Kyrgyzstan hosted a teleconference on the topic “Safe migration”, in which Kyrgyz and Kazakh experts discussed the problems of migrants.
Migration specialists from Osh, Karakol, Bishkek and Astana took part in the teleconference. The participants of the event discussed the activities and interaction of state bodies, international and non-governmental organizations of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in the field of prevention of possible risks that migrants and their families may face in migration.
The teleconference was organized by the National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the NGO "Kyrgyz Ethno-Cultural Association" in Astana city (Kazakhstan) with the support of the State Migration Service under the Government of Kyrgyzstan, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kazakhstan.
The discussion was organized to raise the migrants’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities in the migration process, warnings about possible risks and recommendations how to behave in difficult situations.
In the process of discussion, the participants developed proposals and recommendations for the services and organizations of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan working in the field of migration.
