Ex-president Atambayev meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping

Bishkek, Apr. 11, 2018. / Kabar /. Former Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Boao State Residence in Boao, the press service of the SDPK party reported.

During the meeting Atambayev and Xi Jinping stressed the friendly nature of the interactions, both in the personal relationship and between the peoples of the two countries. The sides noted with satisfaction the high level of the Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic partnership, which has a positive growth momentum. During the meeting, the sides discussed the opportunities and prospects for cooperation within the framework of the Chinese initiative One Belt, One Road.

The Chinese President expressed his gratitude to the ex-president of Kyrgyzstan for his participation in the work of the Boao Asian Forum. Xi Jinping also congratulated Almazbek Atambayev on his election to the post of Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan. The Chinese leader Atambayev, as president of the Kyrgyz Republic, made a great contribution to strengthening friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two countries.

Atambayev thanked the Chinese side for the invitation to the Boao Asian Forum. The ex-president noted the importance of the Forum and expressed confidence that its results will give impetus to further expansion of international economic cooperation.

On Apr. 10, 2018 ex-president of Kyrgyzstan, leader of the SDPK party Almazbek Atambayev took part in opening ceremony of the Boao Asian forum.

Heads of state and government of the People's Republic of China, the Philippines, Austria, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, the Netherlands, also 9 ex-leaders of foreign countries participated in the work of the Forum. The forum was also visited by the UN Secretary General, the Head of the IMF, the former head of the UN and WTO, representatives of political, business and academic circles. More than 2000 people from more than 60 countries take part in the Forum.
