Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2017 / Kabar /. The European Union (EU) has transferred a grant of € 10 million to the Kyrgyz government treasury account to assist the budget support program in educational area.
This money is part of the EU's total € 36 million aimed for the budget support program which is directed for implementation of Kyrgyz Government’s Education Development Strategy until 2020 and the Action Plan for 2016-2017.
The goal of the program is to assist in reforming the systems of general and vocational education, improving the quality of education and pedagogical standards, as well as improving the management of state finances.
Moreover, during the process of ratification of the program, these grants will be used for purchase of textbooks, financing of pre-school education system and installation of Internet in all schools.
In addition, the European Union provides policy advice, technical assistance and training to the staff of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education and Science (MOS) and the Public Council under the MOS.
