Bishkek, July 11 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev, met in Vienna with Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Yuri Fedotov, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the conversation Abdyldaev stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, as well as effective implementation of UNODC projects in Kyrgyzstan. In particular, projects were discussed in such priority areas as combating illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, laundering of criminal proceeds, as well as preventing extremism and radicalization, which leads to terrorism. The sides also agreed on the need to strengthen interaction on projects in the field of HIV / AIDS control and prevention in Kyrgyzstan.
The UN side confirmed interest in continuing to support Kyrgyzstan in the fight against these challenges in the framework of the implementation of national and regional UNODC projects.
