Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism hosted meeting of Minister Azamat Jamankulov and Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Kyrgyzstan Shamsh Kassim-Lakha.
At themeeting the sides discused further development of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the AKDN in the field of culture, as well as the possibility of holding cultural events in Kyrgyzstan in the coming year, the press service of the Ministry of Culture reported.
In particular, Kassim-Lakha expressed his intention to organize the “Kyrk Kyz” (Forty Girls) musical show in Bishkek. The “Kyrk Kyz” heroic epic is an example of the Karakalpak people's creativity, historical and ethnographic monument, the age of which is about 2000 years.
Previously, the play was presented in the United States and Europe with the support of the Aga Khan Music Initiative.
In turn, Minister Jamankulov thanked Shamsh Kassim-Lakha for his attention to the preservation and development of cultural heritage of Central Asian countries. He also noted the idea of organizing the “Kyrk Kyz” performance will have a positive impact on the development of culture in Kyrgyzstan.
