Cross-border cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan discussed in Ferghana

Bishkek, Feb. 17 / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhenish Razakov met on February 15, 2017 with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov to discuss the issues of cross-border cooperation between the countries, the Kyrgyz government’s press service reports.

The meeting of the governmental delegations was held in the city of Fergana in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting the sides discussed the issues of delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.

The Kyrgyz delegation included a special representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on cross-border issues with Kurbanbai Iskandarov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Daniyar Sydykov, as well as heads and representatives of the relevant government agencies of the country.

Vice Premier Zhenish Razakov said about the need for early completion of the agreed positions on the remaining unspecified areas of the state border.

In addition, members of the governmental delegations of the two countries took part in the solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, held on 16 February in Osh.
