Criminal case initiated in relation to MP Babanov

Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2017 / Kabar /. The Public Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case in regard to member of Kyrgyz Parliament Omurbek Babanov and other persons under the article "public calls for violent change of the constitutional order" and "incitement of national, racial or religious hatred."

On September 28, 2017 during the election campaign, the presidential candidate, MP Babanov met with residents of a district of Osh city, mainly of Uzbek nationality.

Speaking there, Babanov, in order to obtain the votes of the Uzbek part of the population, expressed his opinion about the infringement of the rights of people of Uzbek nationality, about the alleged national inequality in the country and pressure on persons of Uzbek nationality by state bodies.
