Citizens of Moldova detained in the south of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 14, 2018. / Kabar /. Moldovan citizens, who were observing the territory of Uzbekistan at the border were detained in the south of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Border guards detained two Moldovan citizens for violating the state border regime on Feb. 13, 2018 in the area of ​​Sary-Kopuro in Jalal-Abad oblast.

Two citizens, born in 1976 and in 1969, were detained by border guards in 50 meters from the state border line.

According to the detainees, they observed the territory of Uzbekistan in order to determine for themselves the route for further follow-up.

Moldovan citizens arrived in Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan in April 2017. The deadline for registration of Moldovans in the territory of Kyrgyzstan had expired in early January 2018, therefore, at the moment their stay in Kyrgyzstan is illegal.
