Bishkek, April 2, 2018 / Kabar /. Today, on April 2, marshrutka (shuttle van) drivers did not go to work because of the imposition of fines for the lack of passenger insurance.
Due to this, a large number of people accumulate on the bus stops of the capital city, municipal transport cannot cope with the increased flow of passengers.
Bishkek Vice Mayor for Transport Issues Gennady Militsky is in charge of this issue.
"The marshrutka drivers did not go to work because of the imposition of fines. Now the leadership is deciding the issue. Perhaps during the day the issue will be resolved," said employee of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office Sezim Zhanybek kysy told.
Today, marshrutka drivers did not come to work because the law on imposition of fines for the lack of passenger insurance, which was adopted in 2008, came into effect since April 1, 2018.
