Bishkek, Feb. 7, 2018. / Kabar /. The Bishkek City Court sentenced Aida Salyanova, a member of parliament from the Ata Meken faction, to five years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The verdict of the second instance was announced today.
Thus, the city court upheld the decision of the Lenin district court of the capital.
As reported, the serving of the sentence is delayed - until Salyanova’s daughter turn 14 years of age.
Commenting on the verdict of the court, Salyanova said that she would file a supervisory complaint with the Supreme Court.
Deputy of the Parliament Zhanar Akaev, who came to court as a sign of support, said that the court's decision cannot be called fair.
MP, former Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Aida Salyanova is accused of abuse of office. According to the investigation, in 2010 she, being the Minister of Justice, unlawfully renewed the lawyer's license to Alexei Eliseev.
Salyanova does not admit her guilt.
