BISHKEK, Aug. 24, 2017. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev met with Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Sarvar Danish, the Kyrgyz President's press service reported.
During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan in various areas, taking into account the historical and cultural ties between the two countries and in the context of the implementation of major infrastructure and energy projects in the region.
President Atambayev thanked the Vice President of Afghanistan for coming to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the International Snow Leopard & Ecosystem Forum, noting that it is called up to pay attention to the issues of biodiversity conservation and ecological systems of the countries of the snow leopard habitat.
Mohammad Sarvar Danish sent his greetings to Atambayev and best wishes from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, and said that it is a great honor for the Afghan delegation to participate in the Snow Leopard Forum. "We are taking great interest in the Forum," he said.
The Vice President of Afghanistan also wished successful presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. "The positive processes that took place during your presidency will remain in the history not only of Kyrgyzstan, but of many countries in the region," he said.
The meeting was also attended by Mustafa Sacher, Director General of the National Agency for Environmental Protection of Afghanistan, and Mohammed Issa Mesbah, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan to Kyrgyzstan.
