Asian Arm-wrestling Championship kicks off in Kyrgyzstan with participation of more than 400 athletes

Bishkek, June 8 / Kabar /. The Asian Arm-wrestling Championship has started today in Kyrgyzstan’s Cholpon-Ata town with the participation of more than 400 athletes.

According to data of the secretariat of the Asian Championship, 437 athletes from 11 countries participate in the competition: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, India, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia and Pakistan.

Kyrgyzstan is represented by a team of 124 athletes, including men, women, boys, girls, people with disabilities of various ages. The grand opening of the competition will be held today at 19:00.

This championship is held to further popularize and develop the sport in Kyrgyzstan and Asia, select the strongest athletes for the formation of the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic to participate in world championships.

Organizers are the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports, Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports, Asian Armwrestling Federation (AAF), Kyrgyz National Federation of Armsport.
