Bishkek, Oct.14, 2019. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliyev met with Head of the Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between the two countries on religion and religious education, in particular, Ambassador Omuraliyev noted the Turkish grant in the amount of $ 5 million, allocated to the Yyman Foundation of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2015-2019, was aimed at the implementation of projects to train, improve the capacity and level of education of imams, issue scholarships, create InsanKG information portal , etc.
The Kyrgyz ambassador also informed about the planned projects of the Yyman Foundation for 2019-2022 on researching the religious situation in Kyrgyzstan, reforming religious education in madrasas (any type of educational institution), educational and material support of students - citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad, and touched upon the issue of allocation of the second tranche of the Turkish grant in the amount of $5 million to the Yyman Foundation.
Erbaş noted that this issue would be resolved after consultations with the Turkish Foreign Ministry and the approval of Turkish president.
