Agricultural sector is a key focus in economic integration into EEU, Kyrgyz Prime Minister

"The agricultural sector is a key focus in the process of economic integration of Kyrgyzstan into the Eurasian Economic Union," Prime Minister Sooronbay Zheenbekov said at the meeting of the Kyrgyz government, which considered the preparation for the spring field work in 2017, the press service of the government reports.

Minister of Agriculture, Food Processing and Land Reclamation Nurbek Murashev said that in preparation for the spring field the Ministry took into account the particularities of all regions on the cultivation of crops.

Also he said that operational headquarters has been opened in regions and a new structure of sown areas has been developed, which focuses on the EEU markets.

Sooronbay Zheenbekov said that the implementation of spring-field works should be carried out to a qualitatively new level.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Ministry of agriculture, food processing and reclamation should plan how much of the raw material will be processed at the domestic enterprises to continue to be exported to foreign countries.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the Government's policy in the field of agricultural development should be implemented not only in order to enter EEU markets, but also to find new markets.

"Each region has specific tasks on the terms of construction and the launch of new production plants. The objective of the Government for 2017 in the agricultural sector is to increase productivity, gross yield and a substantial increase in exports of processed agricultural products," said Zheenbekov, adding that the implementation of these tasks aimed at ensuring food security and improving the welfare of the population.
